The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), an autonomous institute of the Singapore University of Social Sciences, is at the forefront of building capabilities and continuing professional development for an effective, innovative, and responsive TAE sector. Innovation Centre (IC), a division under IAL, leads the learning innovation with and for the Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector through programmes and initiatives. The Centre\'s objective is to advance the development, proliferation and adoption of proven innovative learning solutions. IC is made up of 3 teams - (i) Adoption and Acceleration, (ii) Exploration and Development and (iii) Innovation Support Services.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal Manager, Adoption and Acceleration, this position works with the various Programme Managers (PMs) in meeting the centre\'s objectives to advance the development, proliferation, and adoption of proven innovative learning solutions. The appointee should be familiar with the innovation life cycle and management, possessing a strong business acumen and critical ability to fuse learning technology and pedagogical knowledge. The appointee should also be familiar with the training and adult education landscape and is adept at leveraging market and business-related research studies to meet the centre\'s objectives.

Key activities related to these responsibilities include:
1. Work with PMs to strategise, develop and implement plans to proliferate adoption of proven learning innovations.
2. Contribute to developing new programmes and improving the centre\'s programme(s).
3. Engage organisations to interest them in embarking on innovation efforts and onboard them by providing them with the necessary support and advise to help them achieve their innovation objectives.
4. Provide advisory services and support to organisations interested in adopting promising innovations and ensuring successful adoption(s).
5. Evaluate outcomes and impact at the end of individual projects.
6. Additional duties may be assigned, and functions may be modified, according to business needs and industry developments.

Requirements

  • A master\'s or bachelor\'s degree, preferably in the Social Sciences, innovation and/or business management, education technology, or learning sciences.
  • Minimally 5-8 years of working experience, preferably in operationalising incubation or acceleration programmes, adult learning and training sectors, or a related role in business-related and market research, project and contract management. Any combination of these areas is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, possessing strong communication skills (written and verbal) to engage and influence stakeholders of all levels of seniority.
  • Possess prior experience in at least one of the areas of responsibilities listed above.
  • Enjoy experimenting with ideas while managing risks and managing their potential impact on programmes, systems and processes
  • Possess strong project management skills to meet agreed deliverables and desired outcomes.
  • Posses tech and data savviness - familiar and comfortable with data visualisation and analytics tools (eg Excel, Tableau, PowerBI) with the ability to distil data into insights for decision making.
  • Demonstrate strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect the dots to develop a deeper appreciation of current and emerging key issues and exercising good judgement to provide sound recommendations.
  • Possess an ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrate an ability in meeting deadlines and delivering on KPIs.
  • The successful appointee will be based in IAL Campus located at Lifelong Learning Institute next to Paya Lebar MRT station.
