Job Description


What the role is:You are the hospitality ambassador of the museum, tasked to ensure our visitors enjoy their time at the museum and leave with a positive and lasting impression of the museum. You are responsible for visitor experience management across all the visitor touch points at the museum, oversee ticketing and revenue collection processes, manage a team of hospitality staff, volunteers and docents, and also provide visitor reports and analytics. You are a team player who has a keen interest in the museum and heritage sector and would like to contribute to this vibrant and growing industry.Responsibilities

  • Oversee visitor service operations, including but not limited to front counter and gallery services
  • Manage a team of hospitality staff, comprising both visitor services officers and gallery sitters
  • Ensure smooth visitor access to the museum, clear way-finding and ease of use of features and facilities within the museum
  • Promote exhibitions and programmes to visitors in the museum
  • Monitor and implement ticketing and visitor analytics systems to ensure ease of issuing admission tickets and tracking visitor entries
  • Provide regular reports and analytics on visitor numbers and patterns to the museum and various galleries/ exhibitions
  • Handle visitor feedback and provide service recovery
  • Support volunteer management and work with volunteers and docents to deliver programmes and visitor experience
  • Facilitate ad-hoc requests and group visits to the museum
  • Manage administrative and financial matters as necessary
Requirements
  • Preferably at least 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the hospitality and/ or arts and heritage sectors. Those with no experience or lesser experience may be considered for the Assistant Manager/ Manager position
  • Experience in data analytics will be a bonus
  • Strong leadership, resourceful, able to work independently and also in a team
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and development skills
  • Self-motivated, results orientated and full of drive
  • Able to confidently cultivate positive partnerships with advocates and volunteers for the museum
  • Able to work irregular hours and on weekends when required
