Job description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations, the Assistant Manager will support the Operations team to ensure smooth, timely turnaround for day-to-day processing of new business and inforce policy service requests, act as first line of defense for performing CDD reviews for client onboarding and support distribution operations and underwriting administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will represent the team as the first point of contact for our Distributors, Clients and Assignee bank partners, build relationships with our Distributors\xe2\x80\x99 Case Management/Operations teams and within Sun Life Singapore Branch\xe2\x80\x99s internal support teams, to deliver a positive Client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Initial responsibilities will include the accurate and timely processing of new business and inforce transactions. This includes monitoring incoming email inquiries, indexing case documents, determining if requirements are in good order, preparing and mailing policy contracts, and completing policy service requests.
  • Conduct client due diligence on the various parties of the insurance contract in order to ensure compliance with the company\xe2\x80\x99s AML/CFT guidelines and procedures. This includes reviewing the CDD documents to ensure they meet our standard and that the client risk assessment rating is established in a timely manner with approval obtained before onboarding the client.
  • Manages, builds, and nourishes a proactive, positive and productive relationship with the Distribution team to ensure all client relationships (advisors, brokers, private banks, etc.) are fostered and the team meets our Client\'s high expectations.
  • Providing other administrative support services. This includes processing of medical reimbursement, portal access creation/termination/modification and Assignee banks\xe2\x80\x99 request for policy information and statement.
  • Assisting the business owner for Operations by providing input and review of business requirements and design proposals as well as ensuring Operations SOP are current. This includes participation in user acceptance testing and timely updates to SOP whenever there are changes or updates. Propose enhancements where necessary to enhance process efficiency.
  • Support the Operations team in other related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of life insurance Operations experience, preferably in the high-net-worth market
  • Demonstrated experience in direct client relationship management
  • Diploma or higher required
  • Life insurance industry designations preferred
Preferred skills
  • Proven experience processing new business and inforce policy service life insurance transactions
  • Proven experience adhering to AML/CFT, client due diligence, risk assessment, MAS and LIA guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving in a complex, time sensitive business model
  • Strong verbal and writing skills with ability to communicate to various audiences including Clients, Distributors, internal stakeholders and up-line management
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with Distributors and internal departments that support the business
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, multi-system environment
  • Agile development methodology and digital enterprise experience preferred
  • Proven understanding of Universal Life, Index Universal Life, Participating and Non-participating Whole Life products
