What the role is: The Travel Agents & Tourist Guides (TATG) Division is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to come make a difference in showcasing the Singapore story and play an instrumental role in supporting the travel agent community. The Tour and Industry Development (TID) department champions the travel agent sector, guided by the Travel Agent (TA) Roadmap that focuses on the 3 strategic pillars of manpower, technology and business transformation. We keep a keen eye on progression for the industry through supporting agile and resilient travel agents who can adapt to the evolving demands of travellers and compete on the global stage. TID also drives the development of a vibrant tour landscape in Singapore through tour development initiatives that showcase the Singapore passion and possibilities, that leave visitors with a deeper appreciation of the Singapore story.

Main responsibilities: As a key member of the TID team, you will play an instrumental role supporting TID\xe2\x80\x99s work on the Travel Agent Roadmap, working with travel agents to improve their manpower practices and drive productivity. You will oversee all manpower-related matters for the TA sector and work on initiatives, including an Industry Transformation Map, to increase awareness of good Human Capital practices where travel agents are encouraged to adopt solutions for talent attraction and management. Together with THCO, you will work with other government agencies including WSG and SSG, as well as industry associations such as National Association for Travel Agent Singapore (NATAS) to provide a more holistic support to travel agents. You will have the opportunity to build deep knowledge of the corporate and inbound TAs which are a critical node of driving visitor arrivals into Singapore. You will be well-versed with the industry ecosystem and understand the challenges and opportunities for sustainable growth. You will be the account manager for key travel agents, honing your business development skills and supporting these travel agents to navigate the increasingly challenging landscape through various scheme like the Business Improvement Fund (BIF) grant for the industry. To build your expertise, there will be many opportunities to participate in tour experiences to comprehend the breadth of tour offerings in Singapore. This allows you to better curate relevant tour experiences to different target segments. In support of STB\'s T2030 tourism plan, you will oversee the tour development in new areas like Wellness and Sustainability in collaboration with industry.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of working experience, preferably in the areas of travel agent industry, industry development, and/or strategic planning
• Tourism industry acumen, especially on the potential of the travel agent industry despite macro and micro challenges.
• Enjoy challenges and problem solving
• Good knowledge of travel agent ecosystem
• Some understanding of various technology solutions that can be adopted by travel agents, e.g. travel management systems, HR solutions.
• Ability to interpret financial statements - to review the financial documents required for grants administering
