Job Description


:The Assistant Manager/Manager (Planning) will be part of a team which develops and reviews the Gallery\'s strategies and plans to ensure alignment between key initiatives, desired outcomes and the Gallery\'s vision.You will put together workplans and reports to be submitted to management, Board and MCCY as part of the annual corporate planning cycle. This would include organising and facilitating key meeting platforms across Gallery\'s business units to formulate their workplans and ensure alignment across teams.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES but not limited to the below:Strategic & Corporate Planning:

  • Work with the Assistant Director (Planning) to develop and coordinate the Gallery\'s annual workplan processes and reviews with management and Board, to formulate and review strategic plans in response to evolving organisational needs and external factors.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Work with Gallery\'s Research team to support informed decision-making and strategy formulation through market research and analysis, to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that may impact the organisation\'s strategic direction.
  • Translate and communicate the Gallery\'s strategy across functions and business units to aid in the alignment of processes and individual department goals with overall strategy, which could include the development of communication materials such as corporate slides, electronic mailers or infographics.
  • Facilitating conversations to identify synergies across departments.
  • Collaborate closely with the Visual Arts Cluster leadership and engage other key stakeholders (internal and external) to gather input on planning initiatives and align the Gallery\'s strategies and action plans within the broader context of the arts and culture ecosystem.
  • Provide secretarial support, including the preparation of regular management reports for Board and Senior Management.
Social Impact, Performance Tracking and Management:
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and enhance the Gallery\'s social impact strategy, driving the integration of social impact considerations into strategic planning processes.
  • Work closely with the in-house research team to align social impact metrics with the organisation\'s strategic objectives and mission.
  • Prepare performance and risk management reporting to management and board, analysing performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement for impact and organisational effectiveness.
  • Develop and support the implementation of knowledge management systems that capture insights and facilitate learning initiatives to disseminate best practices and enhance the organisation\'s impact over time.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in any discipline.
  • Prior experience in strategic planning or related roles, preferably within the non-profit/charity sector, is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking, especially in areas such as data & trend analysis and synthesis & presentation of diverse information from various business units
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including senior management.
  • Possess strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and comfortable with various IT tools, including but not limited to utilising video conferencing tools for hybrid meeting formats.
  • A keen interest and knowledge of visual arts and/or the museum sector is a plus.
