Job Description


What the role is:

The Child Development Department in ECDA oversees a continuum of services and drives initiatives to support the development of young children with developmental needs and those from low-income families with young children, to ensure a good start for every child. The Social Mobility branch oversees programmes for low-income families with young children. As an Assistant Manager/ Manager, you will work closely with preschool operators and other divisions within MSF to develop, implement, monitor and review programmes and initiatives to address gaps or barriers that impede child development and preschool enrolment of children from lower-income families.

What you will be working on:

  • Support in the development, review and implementation of programmes and processes that affect the development of children from lower-social economic status families \xe2\x80\xa2 Align the branch\'s initiatives with whole-of-government efforts and ensure integration with other new/existing initiatives in the social, health and education sector \xe2\x80\xa2 Staff senior management and political office holders for inter-agency meetings related to the department\'s work \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitor performance of preschool operators and assess/evaluate effectiveness of preschool operators initiatives \xe2\x80\xa2 Analyse data and reports from preschool operators and provide performance assessment /updates to senior management \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide administrative support in the management of the department\'s budget and engagements with the Ministry of Finance and other partners where it relates to reporting or budget/funding requests \xe2\x80\xa2 Undertake any other additional tasks and duties as assigned
What we are looking for:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification e.g., psychology, economics, sociology, business analytics, engineering, applied mathematics, statistics or related disciplines with strong quantitative skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to analyse, interpret, and package information for the purpose of reporting \xe2\x80\xa2 At least 1-2 years of prior experience in policy or planning roles preferred \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to engage stakeholders at different levels \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously as and when required \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to multi-task and work under pressure \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong analytical, written, oral communication and presentation skills
