Project Title: The Importance of CARE: Covid-19, Attachment, Resilience, and Early Life (CARE study)
Project Introduction:
CARE study examines stress exposure at discrete phases of foetal and child development during the COVID-19 pandemic alongside data from longitudinal and/or cross-sectional research studies that have enrolled children at a variety of early life-stages. Stress is examined in multiple ways including exposure to insensitive parenting and insecure attachment. Through CARE study, we will be able to better understand basic questions essential to improving prevention and intervention programs. In addition, this study also has the potential to generate information that will be of use to societal and educational systems as they prepare for a wave of children who, given the fact that they were exposed to enhanced (Covid-19 related) stress in early life, may, unfortunately, be likely to face an increased amount of socioemotional and cognitive challenges.
