Work with the Department Head and Deputy Heads to ensure effective and efficient daily administrative operations.
Lead and supervise a team of administrators to manage;
Academic curriculum planning, timetabling, module registration, examination schedules, and invigilation at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Provide administrative services to students that relate to academic matters.
Department seminars and events, open house as well as commencement ceremonies.
Research-related matters including grant management and hiring of research assistants.
Finance and procurement-related matters including management of annual budget and expenditure to meet the operational needs of the department.
Publicity-related matters that include maintenance of department social media. * Manage Human resource-related matters that include annual performance reviews of team members as well as management of teaching assistants.
Act as a liaison for the department for matters related to the Faculty and University.
Qualifications
A recognised University degree, with working experience in the higher education industry
Minimally 3 years of working experience in leading a team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple systems
Meticulous and detail-oriented with high accuracy working on large volume of data
Well-organized with good monitoring and follow-up skills within tight deadlines
Confidentiality, tact, and discretion when dealing with confidential data
Positive attitude, able to work independently and as a team player
Proficient in MS Office applications
