Job Description


Job Purpose

The incumbent will play a critical role in enhancing the career prospects and employability of FASS undergraduates. You will be involved in the development, implementation, and management of our credit-bearing internship programmes, mentorship initiatives, and supporting the faculty\'s strategies in enhancing the graduate employability of our students. Working closely with faculty, industry partners, alumni, mentors and other stakeholders, you will create opportunities for students to gain practical experience, develop essential skills, and foster connections in their chosen fields.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Program Development and Management:

  • Oversee and manage our flagship Internship and Mentorship Programmes, as well as the FASS Industry Seminar and FASS 2.0 Industry Tracks Programme, ensuring alignment with academic requirements and student learning outcomes.
  • Actively engage industry partners and other stakeholders to identify suitable internship and mentorship opportunities. Establish partnerships with organizations or individuals in various sectors that could offer high-value and meaningful learning experience for our students.
  • Work closely with the team in developing strategies and initiatives to enhance graduate employability, including career workshops, networking events, and alumni/mentors\' engagement activities.
2. Partnership Development:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry partners and relevant key stakeholders, fostering mutually beneficial collaborations for internship placements, mentorship opportunities, and graduate employment prospects.
  • Liaise with alumni networks to leverage their expertise, industry connections, and to seek potential opportunities for students and fresh graduates.
  • Identify emerging trends and industry demands to ensure programme relevance and maximize student employability.
3. Student Support and Guidance:
  • Provide guidance and advisory support to students regarding internship, mentorship and career development opportunities, helping them make informed decisions and set realistic goals and expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Centre for Future-ready Graduates, as well as other relevant partners, to conduct training customized to meet the needs of FASS students.
  • Monitor students\' progress and participation status, evaluate programme effectiveness, and implement improvements based on feedback and industry best practices.
Qualifications
  • Degree from a recognised university.
  • Approximately 10 years\' experience in relevant portfolio, preferably within the higher education sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing programmes or similar initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of career development trends and challenges faced by university students.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, students, mentors and alumni, as well creating opportunities for students to enhance their learning experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
  • Good listening skills; empathetic and student centric.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Data driven and is familiar with relevant software and tools for programme management, presentation and data analysis.
