Work Scope of Assistant Teacher
An Assistant Teacher needs to:
Join the centre staff in receiving and sending off children during receiving and pickup time (supervised by trained staff) but should not be allowed to communicate directly with parents
Assist in the execution of routine care duties e.g. feeding/meal time, diapering/toileting, bathing/washing, sleeping/napping
Assist in the preparation of learning activities, teaching aids and learning corners
Assist in cleaning/disinfecting of resources/toys
Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activity plans for the class assigned. May be allowed to carry out the activity plans with the supervision of mentor teacher
Assist in documenting observation of children or activities while carrying out activities with children
Upkeep professionalism during course of work by:
a) Maintaining strict confidentiality about the children
b) Taking pride in your personal grooming
c) Adhering to the code of conduct at all times
d) Performing any other ad-hoc projects/duties as assigned by the Mentor Teacher / Principal from time to time
