Job Description


Temasek\'s Finance - Governance & Controls function enhances Temasek\'s resilience with centralised governance of key Finance platforms and establishing and implementing robust controls and policies. This role will manage the business administration of Workday Financial Management and other Finance systems / platforms to enable smooth running of the organisation\'s day-to-day business activities and lead / manage initiatives to build new capabilities and enhance our systems, processes, and policies.

Responsibilities :

Manage & govern Workday Financial Management (Workday) system and other Finance platforms\' business administrator activities

  • User Access Framework governance and user role assignments in Workday and Banking platforms
  • Business configurations and set-up in Workday and other platforms, such as Workday foundation data model / master data, account posting rules, settlement rules, validation rules, mapping tables, business processes / workflows, approval matrix
  • Integrations & reconciliation between Workday and other enterprise / external systems to ensure data integrity / accuracy
  • Assess business impact of production incidents and errors and engage with IT and other business units or vendors to ensure issues are promptly resolved with long-term fix
  • Assess and analyse issues raised or change requests from business owners / users, provide subjective matter expertise, propose alternatives, and recommend solution(s)
  • Ensure systems and platforms configurations and set-up adhere to institutional frameworks, SOPs, policies, and governance controls
  • Maintain proper documentation of business administrator activities for internal and external audit reviews and handle queries arising from the reviews
Provide End User Support and Knowledge Transfer
  • Develop user-friendly procedures, guides, and documentation, and provide training and guidance to end-users on use of systems / platforms and related processes, policies / frameworks
  • Assist end-users on their production issues and perform first level investigation before escalation to IT for resolution
  • Manage / ensure proper and up-to-date documentation of SOPs, policies, process flows and system / process controls
  • Share knowledge and information through regular communications and facilitation and contribute to development of internal capabilities via mentoring and coaching
Lead and manage system & process enhancements initiatives and new product / functionality implementation
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and recommend new ways to maximise system and process efficiencies for the team or organisation
  • Lead and project manage initiatives to streamline and enhance processes and system functionalities to improve operational efficiency and end-user experience, and/or address control gaps
  • Stay up to date on Workday releases and updates and recommend changes or enhancements that are relevant and beneficial to the team or organisation
  • Stay on top of new technology innovations and drive initiatives to implement new capabilities / innovations to the team or organisation
  • Gather or provide detailed business requirements and translate them into effective processes, system design, and procedures while considering and anticipating organisational impact.
  • Identify test scenarios, develop test scripts and manage / perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new system functionalities or configuration changes for deployment to production
  • Collaborate and integrate with other business units across the organisation to provide a holistic and complete design solution, considering impact of both upstream and downstream systems and impact on post-implementation operational maintenance efforts.
Analysis of data for monitoring, insights and escalation
  • Develop and generate reports and dashboards to monitor key metrics, KPIs and exception reporting
  • Analyse data in the reports and dashboards to identify key drivers and explanation of trends and metrics, and prepare management reports for insights and escalation
Collaborate / participate in institutional projects with cross-functional business units

Requirements :
  • Bachelor\'s degree in relevant Finance, Accounting, Business, or Information System discipline
  • Certified Chartered Accountant is a plus
  • Workday Financial Management professional certification
  • Minimum 6-8 years of relevant working experience, with 3-5 years of experience with Workday system
  • Proven demonstration of sound business acumen, teamwork and leadership qualities
  • Strong functional knowledge around financial systems and processes
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects and manage multiple stakeholders within and outside the organisation to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong logical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills; Able to connect the dots and assess downstream impact to propose solutions
  • Hands on, meticulous and with a keen eye for details and yet a big picture perspective
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to deliver impactful messages
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to professional and service excellence; Able to develop good working relationships
  • Fast learner and highly adaptable in a fast and dynamic environment
