We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Assistant Vice President, RBWM Risk and Control, RBWM CCO.

Principal Responsibilities

WPB Risk & Control Management role act as a First Line of Defence and work closely with Risk Owners and Control Owners to drive the effective governance and management of non-financial risks in the First LOD. They provide proactive advice based on risk and control knowledge and insights and present risk management solutions where appropriate

The First Line of Defence Framework includes all Risk & Control related tasks including developing appropriate Risk Control Assessment (RCAs), Continuous Monitoring through Key Indicators (KIs) and thematic reviews, Risk Appetite and the Management Information (MI) and Reporting thereof by which the BAU monitoring can be well managed.

In addition, the individual needs to overall:

  • Enable the Business to clearly, consistently articulate the risk profile of the business/process including the health of the controls
  • Support Risk and Control Owners in identifying anomalies in control effectiveness or the aggregation of risks that may take the risk profile of the business outside of tolerance
  • Drive the development and implementation of risk related processes, in collaboration with Risk Stewards (2LOD) and taking regulatory requirements into account
  • Promoting desired behaviours and a positive risk culture, and supporting the delivery of the conduct outcomes
  • Conduct thematic reviews to identify any process gaps/lapses and further strengthen the controls
  • Establish appropriate operational controls based on risk assessments to ensure that the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Operational Risk Management Framework is met and fully adhered to
  • Conduct thematic reviews to identify any process gaps/lapses and further strengthen the controls
  • Implement Non-Financial Risk Framework including control monitoring plans
  • Execution of the Risk Assessment Process: RCA scoping, refresh RCA assessments, risk appetite statements
Requirements

  • Good understanding of operational risk and controls, preferably gained through experience in front line and risk roles
  • A good understanding of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Operational Risk Framework
  • Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work independently under pressure within a team environment
  • A sound knowledge of the Group and the WPB business, including products & services
