Job Scope

You will report directly to the Hardware Lead. Your daily schedule will include frequent interactions with a multi-disciplinary team and you need to be equally comfortable working at sea trials and a normal desk in the office. You will need to work in Singapore. Remote work is not an option.

• Design and Implement overall Mechanical Systems of Autonomous Platforms: Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (HAUVs) and Autonomous Surface Vessels
• Design of mechanical components, mechanisms and electronics housings in CAD

• Conduct Finite Element Analysis Simulation on design components for structural integrity and stress failure assessment
• Drafting of 2D drawings for fabrication and assembly
• Assembly and testing of designed mechanical components in the workshop and testing in real world environments
• Sail out to sea for testing and evaluation of completed mechanical designs and other
• robotic systems

• Gather user requirements in collaboration with management team
• and end customers
• Establish test procedures for mechanical quality control and regulatory compliance

Desired Qualities and Skillsets

• Diploma/B.Eng in Engineering (Mechanical), or related experience
• 1-5 years experience in mechanical product design from concept to product delivery to customers
• Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent engineering CAD design software
• Experimented with prototyping and various manufacturing methods ranging from 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, welding, composites etc
• Experimented with Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation modelling such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, OpenFOAM or equivalent simulation software

• Experience with corrosion control methods and thermal design methods is a plus
