Job Description


  • Admitted to practice in a common law jurisdiction such as India, Singapore, the UK or the US. Candidates admitted in other jurisdictions with sound knowledge of relevant regional laws may be considered.
  • A minimum of five years of legal experience, with at least three years at a law firm.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate and draft fluently.
  • Strong transactional background, with solid drafting and negotiation experience and understanding of intellectual property, competition & consumer law and privacy issues a plus. Familiarity with technology licensing and services agreements.

Job summary Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for an experienced Associate Corporate Counsel to support our rapidly growing and evolving digital media businesses, primarily in India and Singapore, including Kindle eBooks and devices as well as exciting device and content launches across Southeast Asia. The role will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts, provide advise on a variety of data privacy and content-related issues. The role includes managing legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, advising on new structures and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
• Strong private practice experience, particularly in a technology-focused team. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team • Knowledge of Indian and South East Asian TMT laws, including data privacy and content licensing.
