Roles and Responsibilities

• Support Vice President / Acting Director of the Research Division to implement the recommendations of the Research and Innovation Taskforce
• Lead, develop and support research practices and collaborative research projects in arts education
• Propose annual research targets in the area of arts education and devise plans to achieve the targets
• Draw up and propose annual budget for arts education research
• Co-develop and co-manage annual research assessment process
• Work with relevant colleagues to design, implement and promote faculty development in arts education research
• Participate or lead academic committees or taskforces for continuous improvement
• Undertake 6-10 contact/teaching hours per week during term time
• Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President / Acting Director, Research Division

Requirements

• Minimum qualification of Masters in Arts Education or related, preferably with a PhD
• A track record for research in arts education which can include publications, exhibitions, performances or a body of creative works
• Minimum 10 years of teaching and relevant working experience in the arts education sector
• Wide range of local and international contacts and networks in the field of arts education
• Experience in leading research initiatives, including managing personnel and budgets
• Experience in securing research funding is an advantage
• Strong ability to motivate and mentor staff and colleagues, guiding them towards excellence in their job performance
• Demonstrate understanding, appreciation and passion for the arts with a strong interest in nurturing the artistically talented
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• A team player with good interpersonal skills
