Job Description


Job Purpose

Work closely with Vice Dean (Graduate Studies), Vice Dean (Academic Affairs & Undergraduate Studies) and Asst Dean (Undergraduate Studies) within the Office of Academic Affairs to oversee curriculum management and the overall administration of all aspects of academic matters, as well as manage the Graduate Coursework Programmes (GD) at the Faculty of Law.


  • Support the development of policies, new programmes and initiatives to strengthen the quality of the various GD programmes
  • Enhance and streamline processes and ensure that academic activities are completed by the stipulated critical deadlines
  • Serve as primary liaison point for faculty members on teaching duties and GD students on academic matters
  • Work closely with the Registrar\'s Office to manage academic activities relating to curriculum management
  • New curriculum/programmes
  • Module management and database
  • Class and assessment/examination planning and timetabling
  • Support the Faculty Curriculum Committee in planning for course and visitors
  • Working with the Vice Deans and Asst Dean (Undergraduate) deal with teaching duties and workload matters
  • Manage the full cycle of academic operations from the time of candidature registration to graduation
  • New student registration
  • Candidature matters
  • Module enrolment and study plans
  • Student feedback
  • Academic advice and student support
  • Assessment/examination administration including Board of Examiners meetings
  • Graduation requirements and prizes
  • Working with the Vice Deans and Asst Dean (Undergraduate) oversee and manage budget for Office of Academic Affairs
  • Lead, manage and develop GD team
  • Other projects and initiatives as requested by Reporting Officer
Requirements
  • Possess a good Bachelor\'s Degree
  • At least five years of relevant senior management experience in an education environment
  • Have a passion for education, administration and interacting with professors and students
  • Excellent critical-thinking, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet tight deadlines
  • Meticulous, organised and work well under pressure both independently and as a team player
  • Ability to manage and motivate junior staff
  • Strong writing skills and good numeracy
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
