As part of the Singtel Group Risk Management team, this role plays a vital support function for the Risk Management Committee (RMC) which provides oversight on the Group\'s risks and strategies for business continuity and recovery. This encompasses the entire Singtel Group, including the Board, Risk Committee (RC), and Technology Resilience Committee (TRC).

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage the Business Continuity Management program across the Singtel Group. This involves implementing, training, testing, and maintaining the framework for Business Continuity, Business Recovery, and Crisis Management. The objective is to ensure that all business units and functions have comprehensive and up-to-date business continuity and disaster recovery plans (BC&DRPs) in place.

To fulfill this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Business Continuity (BC) representatives from different business units and functions. Your aim will be to ensure that they possess the necessary capabilities, resources, and strategies/plans to effectively manage incidents and disruptions, enabling uninterrupted operations. Additionally, you will play a key role in incident and crisis events, working closely with the incident/crisis management team to develop recovery and response plans.

Leadiing Singtel\'s Business Continuity Management through:

  • Developing Group-wide Business Continuity Strategy and drive the implementation of the business continuity, business recovery and crisis management framework across the entire Group. This entails having a good level of understanding of the critical assets, systems, network infrastructure, processes, personnel, etc. to assess the vulnerabilities and threats and accordingly, work with the BCM functions / resources within the business units and functions to put in place appropriate business continuity and disaster recovery plans (BC&DRPs)
  • Ensuring the development, review, implementation and monitoring of policies, standards and guidelines associated with business continuity, business recovery and crisis management.
  • Driving awareness programme on BC&DRPs across the Group, by working with BCM functions / resources within the business units and functions, as well as other members within Group Risk Management
  • Helping the business functions to conduct periodic Business Impact Analysis, identify recovery requirements and work with the business continuity coordinators to develop and implement recovery plans in the event of a business disruption.
  • Providing expert advice to management and relevant committees / working groups on BC&DRP and associated risk issues critical assets and during major incidents or crisis
  • Identifying opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
  • Responding swiftly to major incidents impacting the Group which require management intervention / input at an early stage (i.e., crisis management) in order that a full-scale crisis does not eventuate
  • Facilitating or conduct training on business continuity and ensure regular testing of BC&DRPs by business units and functions; conduct crisis exercise to test readiness of senior executives and business units and functions in dealing with crisis
  • Reporting to the RMC and the Board / RC on material matters, findings and recommendations pertaining to business continuity, business recovery and crisis management. Develop regular BCM program status reports to RMC, RC and TRC.
  • Conducting operational risk assessments as assigned by the Risk Management Committee and / or VP, Group Risk Management
Skills for Success

To excel in this role, you should have:

Education and Qualifications:
  • A recognised bachelor\'s degree in degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or IT
Work Experience:
  • At least 10 - 12 years of risk management, consulting related to Business Continuity Planning
Technical / Professional Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management and control concepts, leading risk management practices and standards (e.g. ISO 22301, ISO 31000, COSO)
  • Certified professional designations (e.g. MBCI, CBCP, etc.) highly desirable
  • Good engagement skills. Good communication (oral, written) and presentation skills and proven track record in interacting with all levels of management
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills - independent and objective
Non-Technical / Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and engagement skills with ability to manage across functions, levels, cultures and geographies. Good communication (oral, written) and presentation skills and proven track record in interacting with all levels of management
