The Investments and M&A team is instrumental in originating, analysing, and executing M&A opportunities and strategic analysis. This will allow the company to continue expanding its worldwide footprint and consolidating its standing as one of the major developers, owners and operators of renewable assets in the world.The individual in this role will analyse and execute worldwide strategic investments and divestments (M&A, partnerships, greenfield) and will be directly responsible for the deal execution process in allocated geographies and deals: valuation, offer preparation, due diligence coordination, deal negotiation and internal approvals. They will also contribute and facilitate investment-related communications and decision-making within the organization and have a key liaising role between APAC and EDP/ EDPR Headquarters in Portugal and Spain.Responsibilities

  • Drive investment strategy development in collaboration with senior leadership to develop and refine the investment strategy for the APAC region, aligning with corporate objectives and market trends.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities, partnerships, and M&A targets that enhance the company\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio.
  • Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, including financial, operational, and legal evaluations of target companies and projects.
  • Develop and manage detailed financial models to perform valuations, assess risks, and overall feasibility of potential projects or acquisitions.
  • Lead the analysis for bid strategy for NBO/BO stages and (Auction and Direct) Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) bids.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for investments and acquisitions, working closely with legal and financial advisors to structure deals effectively.
  • Collaborate with external advisors (e.g., legal counsel, financial advisor) and internal EDPR teams (e.g., operations, wind, tax) for NBO and BO stages of execution of M&A transactions.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and high quality presentations to assist group decision-making bodies in global investment decisions.
  • Participate in strategic analysis projects for the group (namely portfolio analysis and business planning).
  • Analyse greenfield projects in terms of economic risk and strategic options and provide reports of findings.
  • Mentor junior team members and take responsibility of the quality of their deliverables
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • At least 10 years in core valuation, M&A, corporate finance or investment analysis. Big4, Investment Banking or Private Equity background is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of valuation (FCFF and FCFE), financing, accounting, and strategic analysis.
  • M&A due diligence and deal negotiation (SPA, SHA, JDA, JV) experience required. Deal execution experience within APAC region countries is strongly desired.
  • Experience in the Energy or Infrastructure sector, preferably in renewables, is required.
  • Strong teamwork skills. Ability to manage empathetically interdepartmental relations within APAC regions and local Headquarters.
  • Strong time-management skills & ability to work well under pressure and take on responsibility.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic vision and high attention to detail.
