Turner & Townsend\'s Consulting and Advisory team is expanding and looking for an Associate Director to join the team. As a member of our Advisory team, you will be \'output\' focused and have experience working across a variety of sectors and client types, supporting delivery and implementation of performance improvements across Portfolios and Programs of work. We are looking for someone with a passion for data and improvements but also keen to be mentored to be a future leader of the industry.

As an Associate Director, you will lead Consulting commission, taking responsibility for client engagement and team leadership for both our clients and team, including: * Taking responsibility for end to end service delivery, often with respect to significant cultural change, new ways of working and cost reduction.

  • To provide complementary services to core Turner & Townsend propositions such as project management, cost management, contract services and program management.
  • To act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.
  • To lead the development of sales opportunities with new or existing clients and convert successfully through high quality bid writing.
In addition to these primary activities, you will be charged with the following activities: * Translating client strategy into clear action plans that make a tangible difference.
  • Producing clear, concise and persuasive client-facing reports or deliverables in various formats that deliver to client expectations and demonstrate value.
  • Leading the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost and performance parameters.
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project.
  • Project planning, including ensuring the production of the detailed project plan.
  • Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  • Commercial management - Monitoring and advising upon project finances
Management Consulting Skills and Experience
  • Managing change proactively with client stakeholders
  • Identifying improvement or efficiency opportunities and driving through to implementation through consulting project management and delivery.
  • Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client\'s overall objectives.
  • Deploying a variety of techniques to deliver improvements to client operations that include, but are not limited to, process re-engineering, organisational change, technology implementation and beyond.
  • Producing coherent and persuasive cases for change.
Marketing and business development
  • Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients.
  • Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities by creating an internal Turner & Townsend network and working closely with colleagues from Project and Cost Management.
  • Working with Associate Directors and Directors to construct bids for new work.
  • Attending formal client pitches with Assistant Directors and Directors.
  • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve other Turner & Townsend products and services.
Internal management accountabilities
  • Staff management (where appropriate) - Inputting into the formal management of project team or other resources, to include 1st round recruitment interviews, input into resource management and attendance at junior staff appraisals.
  • Knowledge management - Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each project is entered into the Turner & Townsend internal database.
  • Financial management - Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilising D365 in order to monitor a project\'s financial status.
  • Process improvement - Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
  • Projects are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently, on time and to budget.
  • Project delivery meets the client\'s objectives and is in line with the conditions of appointment.
  • Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team.
  • General line management responsibilities (where appropriate) are effectively discharged.
  • Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities, are identified and acted upon.
Qualifications
  • Professionally qualified in one of the following fields: management consulting, business management, project management or information technology.
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project conception stage, through all of the operational stages to completion and post-project review.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of business improvement approaches including business process re-engineering, system development, change management and other relevant techniques.
  • Experience of leading consulting commissions for medium, large, sized clients of medium to high complexity that deliver a tangible return on investment.
  • (Preferred) Experience of working across sectors that may include property, infrastructure or natural resources and both the private and public sector.
  • A minimum of 5 - 10 years consulting experience
