Summary: This role is responsible for the maintenance of fibre network.
He/She is required to work on site with equipment to troubleshoot and rectify network issues both independently and as a team. - Performing Field Duties
- Troubleshooting and rectification of fibre issues. Perform in-depth trouble-shooting of faults with using OTDR, GPON meter and power meter/light source and rectify fibre faults, with direct customer interaction.
- Replacement and Installation of cables and PVC trunking when required.
- Performing Patching and Termination of Fibre cables
- Track that all installation appointments and work orders are fulfilled and delivered on time
- Ensure that all fault tickets are resolved timely and meet performance SLA on MTTR, availability and QoS.
- Conduct joint on-site testing and verification tests with QP/RL and RSP personnel to determine root cause of fault and resolution.
- Conduct on-site inspections of on-going works to ensure that contractors adhere to established work procedures such as end-to-end testing, installation standards and safety work processes.
- Occasional night work to escort contractor or support service migration works.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as per assigned by supervisors. Requirements - Knowledge of Fibre Optics
- Class 3 driving license
- Able to work on alternate Saturdays
- Able to perform over-time work as and when required
- Comfortable with working at height (when needed)
- Standy 24/7, though call up
