Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain optical transmission network equipment for backhaul transmission system (e.g. SDH, PTN).
• Coordinate with vendors on operations and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot and rectify faults on the optical transmission equipment and where necessary

a. follow-up with the equipment vendor and or
b. liaise with other departments and backhaul providers on fault investigation and resolution. * Perform software upgrades on optical transmission equipment and post activity service verification.

• Able to work during non-office hours and be on 24*7 hours standby alert for ad-hoc faults.
• Investigate the root cause of outages and write incident reports when requested by NOC/TAC Teams.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the manager.

The Ideal candidate should possess:

• Diploma in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Telecommunications/ Electrical/Electronics or equivalent qualifications with at least 3 years of working experience.
• At least 1 years of working experience with Carrier Ethernet network
• Knowledge of core and access transmission network using SDH, OTN and IP technologies.
• Knowledge and hands on experience of managing fiber optic based network operations.
• Monitor end to end utilization, alarms and prepare performance report.
• Able to use network management systems (NMS) to diagnose and troubleshoot troubles.
• Ability to work with tight timelines with a sense of urgency to deliver results.
• Willing to be placed on call on 24x7 basis.
