FIN Role/Responsibilities
Joining the Asia Pacific Tax Team and reporting to the Assistant Vice President, the Senior Tax Analyst will facilitate the preparation, review and filing of tax forms and returns for Moody’s group APAC. The incumbent will be familiar with GST and/or VAT returns, non-income tax compliance, IFRS and US GAAP tax laws (e.g. ASC 740 & IAS 12), and SOX compliance. Key countries of your remit will include China, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Korea. The team has combined experiences from both consulting and commercial organizations.   • Monitor tax payments for Moody’s group companies within the region.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision process to follow local, regional, and US tax laws.
  • Assist with SOX compliance
  • Analyzing tax account variations and balances
  • Assist in special projects including tax research, tax planning, repatriation planning
  • Partner with external advisors and assist with tracking professional fee budgets
  • Assist with regional tax audits
  • Be the point of contact with queries on billing, VAT/GST and withholding tax
  • Facilitate with transfer pricing documentation and filing requirements including Master File, Local File and CbC Report
  • Support statutory and internal audits for various tax related requirements
Qualifications
  • 4+ years tax experience preferably from Big4 with Asia Pacific taxation focus and commercial experience, preferred.
  • Degree in Accountancy or Finance. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or other specialist qualification would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and in a united environment
  • Tax return and/or provision experience, desired
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Confidence with interacting with multiple departments within an organization
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to meet tax filing, reporting, and other regulatory timelines
