Job Overview The Analyst/Associate will assist with the origination, execution and ongoing portfolio management of non-traditional lending transactions in Australia and New Zealand: special situations, real estate, distressed debt acquisition and corporate recapitalisations. Responsibilities

  • Support the origination and execution of Structured Lending and Special Situations transactions with a focus on Australia and New Zealand jurisdictions
  • Conduct credit research and analysis to evaluate and analyse the financial needs of corporate and real estate clients and any other applicable quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Perform financial and credit analysis, including detailed financial modelling, sensitivity analysis and preparation of internal presentations and memos for investment committee
  • Work with senior members of the team to structure products and draft term sheets for new transactions
  • Assist senior directors in executing transactions by acting as project coordinator, due diligence and valuation manager
  • Assist in drafting documentations including non-disclosure agreements, engagement letters, loan documentation, intercreditor documents
  • Co-ordinate deal specific Q&A with internal middle-office departments including legal, credit risk management and compliance functions
  • Lead KYC/AML on new deals
  • Ongoing file management: periodic reporting on key positions of the group, analysis of covenant compliance, engaging with existing borrowers to monitor performance.

Key Deliverables of the Role
  • Deliver high quality work, within time constraints; manage multiple projects under time pressure
  • Be an effective communicator, working closely with clients and execution teams to ensure deals are executed smoothly and transaction risks minimized
Requirements
  • Minimum a Bachelor degree in either Accountancy or Finance, with a CFA certificate
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in a credit related or investment role at an investment bank, private credit fund or investment manager with exposure to deal execution in Australia or New Zealand
  • Experience in Structured Lending and Special Situations deals in Australia or New Zealand market. Deep understanding of ANZ market dynamics and legal framework
  • Advanced financial modelling and financial analytical skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Strong organisation and multi-tasking skills
  • The ability to excel under pressure amid demanding deadlines
  • The ability to perform effectively in a team environment
