Aon’s Benefit Index®, Nomura’s benefits rank #1 amongst our competitors Function Overview The team has a well-defined mandate of managing AeJ financial resources usages of all business lines, including Global Markets, Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Merchant Banking business, in a prudent and robust manner that meets both the internal governance and external regulatory requirements. It partners closely with other functions and regions to bring the business in line with regulatory changes across the globe and maximise the regional profitability returns. Its primary responsibilities includes: i) On-going reporting and evaluation of business drivers behind Balance Sheet, Unsecured Funding, Risk Weighted Asset, and projection of future usages in view of regulatory pipeline, business deals and changes in sales/trading business strategy; ii) Business advisory on tradespecific RoE optimisation iii) Identification and implementation of various financial resources optimization initiatives Job Responsibilities This role is predominately focused on capital efficiency control under a very simulating environment. The individual will actively review trading portfolio and apply quantitative techniques in identifying trading positions / strategies which do not or will unlikely generate return commensurate with internal risk appetite (across market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk and balance sheet risk). In collaboration with policy SME, advisory services will then be provided to the trading desks to improve return of target business areas. The role requires strong technical skills, the ability to break down complex issues and provide solutions. The candidate should be able to work independently but as part of the wider team. This role provides deep and broad visibility to extensive business and corporate functions, and the opportunity to creatively problemsolve on a broad scale.

  • Engage in business modeling and resource allocation to maximize financial performance against key metrics such as balance sheet/funding/capital/risk parameter consumption
  • Constantly look for emerging risk positions that could impact bottom line
  • Act as a subject matter expert in advising business on transaction structuring/re-evaluation with a view to financial resources efficiency
Job Requirements
  • Proficient in data analysis and leveraging technology to scrutinize sizeable trading portfolio
  • 5+ year risk analytics experience acquired in either global banks or buy-side organisation
  • Ideally with some background in capital, liquidity and risk management
  • High regard for attention to detail, accuracy and quality and excellent report writing skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, a result-oriented mindset and ability to innovate
  • Educated to advanced degree level, preferably in engineering/computer science
  • Willing to learn in dynamic global market trading environment
