Portfolio Execution Group
The Portfolio Execution Group (PEG) encompasses multiple teams that perform a range of functional roles including trade execution, funding and liquidity management, securities financing, beta replication and asset rebalancing, and applied quantitative research. This group comprises four sub-teams Balance Sheet Management Group (BMG), Beta and Asset Rebalancing (BAR), Global Trading Unit (GTU) and Applied Research Unit (ARU).
Global Trading Unit
The Global Trading Unit (GTU) is the first port of call for GICs investment teams and external counterparties in all trading-related matters. We are a global team with desks in Singapore, London, New York, and executes trades in equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. We are passionate about delivering timely and impactful market intelligence to stakeholders that are additive to the investment process,, as well as leveraging on technology and superior research to achieve best execution.
We are looking for a candidate with good understanding and experience in trading fixed income instruments and their derivatives, as well as strong analytical and programming skills; to join the GTU team in Singapore as a Trader that focuses on Fixed Income trading.
What will you do as an Execution Trader?

• Partner closely with portfolio management teams to manage execution risks and implement investment views across fixed income, including both cash instruments and derivatives in DM/EM Rates, Credit, Securitized Products, Loans, Converts and FX
• Synthesize market themes and insights, produce timely and differentiated intelligence to GIC stakeholders
• Work closely with colleagues from the Applied Research Unit (ARU) and Technology Group (TG) to gain insights from trading data in order to continuously sharpen execution, and further improve upon GTUs trading technology suite in areas such as automated trading, pre- and post-trade checks, and market surveillance
• Build and maintain strong relationships with GICs counterparties and liquidity providers via strong interpersonal and communication skills

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• 2 - 5 years of relevant trading experience in APAC fixed income markets across vanilla fixed income instruments as well as their derivatives, such as Options
• Ability to program in Python, and passion for gaining insights from data would be a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication with strong negotiation skills; effective in building interpersonal relationships to positively impact business outcomes
• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with attention to details
• Pleasant, dynamic, self-motivated and team oriented
