1. In general, an AV/IT Technician (\xe2\x80\x9cPersonnel\xe2\x80\x9d) provides audio & visual technical support to staff to facilitate the delivery of lessons and also at school events and functions. The Personnel will also be involved in the Media Club.
2. The Personnel will perform first-level servicing (troubleshooting or simple repairs) for the AV/IT equipment and maintain asset and usage service records of such equipment.
3. This is not a desk-bound job as the Personnel will be handling a lot of maintenance, installation and setting up. These may require the Personnel to carry heavy AV/IT equipment.
4. The duties and responsibilities of the Personnel can be broadly listed, but not exhaustive, as follows:- a) Set up and take charge of AV/IT equipment as required, for school events. For example:-
School Assemblies
Mobile learning
Meetings and Sharing sessions
Special school functions/events (e.g. festival celebrations, Annual Awards, National Day, Orientation Day, Parent-Teacher Meetings, Open House etc)
b) Provide AV technical support to school staff and students
To work closely with ICT Mgr/Associate and Desktop Engineers (DEs)
To demonstrate to students (Class Facility Managers) to learn basic set up and troubleshooting of AV/IT equipment in classrooms
To demonstrate/advise to staff regarding use & care of equipment
To support in running live streaming events for the school
To provide support and recommend good audio & visual softwares
To assist school and teachers to digitise photographs or make copies of video files for archival purposes
To provide other AV/IT support when called for by School Leaders/ HOD ICT/AM/OM
c) Provide technical support in classrooms and special rooms
To follow-up on report of breakdown/defect of equipment in the rooms
To help ensure the equipment in the rooms are always in good working order and ready for use
d) Conduct regular maintenance of the AV/IT equipment in school that includes basic trouble-shooting, repair and installation. For example:-
To maintain AV/IT equipment in the store (such as cleaning the equipments, charging of batteries for digital cameras/video cameras).
To run fortnightly checks of projector system (incl patch panel, speakers), visualiser and screens in classrooms and special rooms
To perform first-level servicing where possible
To identify units for repair, servicing and replacement
To maintain spare parts for simple servicing
To carry out major cleaning during mid-year and end-year term breaks
To contact vendors for quotations on repair works
To update inventory list when replacements are made or when items are condemned
e) Assets Management
To co-ordinate the issue and management of AV/IT equipment
To maintain loan and damage record
To maintain store and update asset register
To conduct inventory takings and condemnation exercises
To prepare condemnation certificates for approval
f) Others
To contact vendors for quotations on repairs and new purchases
To do video-editing/copying and scanning of photographs.
To install software when required
To work closely and cover duties of DEs, if needed.
To adjust working hours upon requests due to school events
To be contactable at all times during working hours
Any other matters assigned by the school
Qualification, Skill & Experience of the Contractor\xe2\x80\x99s Personnel
The Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
1. At least an ITE qualification in audio & visual technical.
2. At least 2 years relevant working experience in schools
3. At least possess the following personalities traits: -
Physically fit
Proactive (initiative)
Service orientated
Able to work independently
Team-player with positive attitude
