The AU Accountant is responsible for undertaking all production accounting activities, including preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements and taxation requirements and deliver associated quality, professional accounting outcomes. They will interact and build rapport with clients to gather the necessary information to fulfill the role. The individual in this role will provide high level tax and accounting support to the Manager/Partner.

  • Effectively manage receipts, invoices, and other financial documents using Xero suite
  • Proficiency in Australian payroll process, procedures, tax, and law.
  • Retrieve data from various government portals and input them into required software to assist managers with various functions including tax returns, forecasts, and others.
  • Organize and update financial records as needed (digital) for tax purposes.
  • Provide support to cover practice management/administrative tasks as required.
  • Deliver on company tax, accounting, and advisory services as required and/or discussed with the Director or requested by clients.
  • Assist the Principal with attending to client setup and registration requirements, internal compliance and client enquiries.
  • Coordinate collection of data from clients.
  • Review ATO correspondence where required and discuss/raise concerning matters with the Principal and ensure matters are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain current knowledge of client lodgments obligations and status across all clients assigned to you, ensuring accurate recording and maintenance of lodgment program data.
  • Complete all work in accordance with tax and accounting legislative requirements as well as the client's processes and procedures.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of current legislative requirements and maintain CPD hours (as required).
  • Provide support to the Team/Directors as required.

Job Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant field, Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant is preferred.
  • At least 2+ year experience in Australian accounting, and bookkeeping.
  • Experience with data management, bulk processing, and invoicing.
  • Strong knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices.
  • Strong working experience in the Xero Suite, including XPM, Xero Tax & Xero Workpapers (along with others)
  • Working knowledge BAS, IAS & GST strong Australian bookkeeping experience.
  • Familiarity with office management procedures and accounting principles.
  • Effective research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and accounting administration skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft OneDrive, MS Office365 and office management software.
  • Has proactive approach to business and technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.
