Job Purpose

The Automotive Technical Officer will be responsible for repair and maintenance of vehicles and components.

Responsibilities

ATO duties and responsibilities are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Servicing and Maintenance

• Perform maintenance and repairs on assigned vehicles and components.
• Examines faulty vehicles and related equipment to ascertain the nature and location of defects.
• Disassembles equipment, wholly or partly, to remove damaged or worn parts.
• Repairs and replaces defective parts.
• Conducts non-destructive tests on machinery components.
• Assembles parts, does supplementary tooling to ensure accurate fit.
• Tests reassembled equipment, installs, aligns and makes necessary adjustment.

B. Quality Maintenance / Customer Service

• Perform quality check before releasing vehicles or components.
• Check general conditions of vehicles or components before handing over to customers.
• Conduct necessary tests.
• Perform good maintenance and minimize repeat job.
• Manage and follow up on customer feedback.
• Ensure cleanliness of the vehicles before handing over the taxis to the customers.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and accounted for

C. Productivity Movements

• Participate actively in Quality Circle, Staff Suggestion Scheme, 5S and other department committees.

D. Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) & Environmental Management System (EMS)

• To participate actively in company WSH & EMS movement
• To co-operate and adhere to all In-house rules and regulations.
• To comply to safety plans/ programs on Personnel, Environment, Equipment and Processes within the Department
• To know and comply to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), Risk Assessment (RA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS)

E. Others

• Complete all job cards/documentation properly and promptly.
• Feedback to supervisors on tools / equipment / spare parts required

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Minimum 1 year relevant working experience required
• Min. NTC 2 (MVM, HDDM) or equivalent

Skills

Technical skills include:

• Prior experience in vehicle / component repairs
• Experience in electric vehicle maintenance preferred
• Able to understand and use diagnostic tools
• Prior experience in using workshop tools (e.g. Floor Jacks, Hoist etc)
• Class 3 / 4 driving license preferred

Generic skills include:

• Able to speak and write simple english
• Excellent multitasking skills
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
