Job Description


Business Function:

Group Strategic Marketing & Communications is responsible for building, protecting, and enhancing the DBS brand in an increasingly commoditised banking industry. Working closely with all units within the DBS Group, we create and execute integrated strategies that focus on communications especially digital communications, marketing, and research to differentiate - and elevate - our brand from the rest of the competition.

People of Purpose (PoP) is DBS\'s employee volunteer movement that brings our values to life. Our volunteering efforts support three areas - the elderly, education and the environment.
We also focus on skills-based volunteering and leveraging our employees\' skills and expertise to give back meaningfully and create impact. We believe that as a purpose driven people, we can make a real positive difference in the communities we operate in, and in so doing, contribute to the bank\'s broader sustainability agenda.

Responsibilities:

  • Engaging and inspiring employees to participate in volunteering programmes with an aim of every employee volunteering 16 hours / year (2 days)
  • Inspire and build a community of DBS People of Purpose within the bank through regular engagement with key BUs/SUs/stakeholders /POP Champions
  • Partner with colleagues across all core markets to drive volunteerism regionally
  • Lead / guide / support the execution of volunteer programmes, including volunteer recruitment, programme coordination and logistics planning
  • Develop unique skills-based volunteering projects that also serve as platforms for skills and talent development, through working with DBS Foundation (to support social enterprises) and other external partners.
  • Follow a data-driven approach to track progress of volunteering KPIs through the year, and course correct as necessary
  • Focus on enhancing the volunteer journey, and making it seamless and simple.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree with a minimum 5 years work experience in a corporate environment, specifically with corporate volunteerism including experience in communications and community building
  • Passionate about engaging people and able to inspire people to action
  • Excellent story-telling, writing and communications skills; familiarity with Bahasa Indonesia or Mandarin is a plus.
  • Experience in working and developing partnerships with social enterprises/social service organisations/NGOs/government
  • Able to work independently in a lean team, with minimal supervision.
  • Thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment. Volunteer or internship experience in the social enterprise / charity space should be highlighted.
