Division Description Global Treasury (GT) aims to be the centre of excellence for Asian financial products. Our market dominance is demonstrated by the numerous accolades we have received for product innovation and customer recognition. Global Treasury covers four key functions: Treasury Advisory and Institutional Sales to customers across Asia including corporations, financial institutions, high net worth individuals and retail markets. Asset Liability Management to manage FX and IR risks arising from balance sheet activities and provide analytics on liquidity and funding management with the aim to optimise returns on a risk adjusted basis. The business also enhances management of the Bank's balance sheet with active reserve portfolio management and credit investment portfolio management. Trading provides competitive pricing and market making to customers and interbank players across FX, fixed income, interest rates, equity and credit derivatives. Business Management creates infrastructure and processes to support business growth, with a focus on intra-division risk and compliance management to ensure proper prudent controls. Summary Credit Research sits within Global Treasury and advises the Bank's clients, helping them to stay one step ahead of the corporate credit market. Providing impartial intelligence and independent research is key to shaping sales and trading strategies for clients. Your role will include effective creation, communication and distribution of credit research content in the corporate bond market (including financial institutions). The successful candidate will gain exposure to fundamental and technical credit research (relative valuation and investment), inter-personal (team and individual work situations) and presentation (client and media engagements) skills through: Key Responsibilities: Contributing to and authoring internal and external research publications Making fixed income investment recommendations/trade ideas and presenting research to both internal & external clients Assessing the credit fundamentals and outlook of companies Analyzing market and economic data Collecting and compiling data on both industries and companies, including contacting company management and attending analyst briefings Maintaining financial models and spreadsheets Ensuring compliance with internal policies (in particular trading and conflict of interest) and MAS regulations as is relevant to research analysts Qualifications The ideal Candidate will meet the following requirements: Prior experience (including relevant internships and training) in a related field (4-7 years of working experience) A solid accounting background with strong MS Excel financial modeling and analytical skills and familiarity with financial statements An individual who is curious and interested in investments and the financial markets A natural orientation to the credit markets will be highly preferred Excellent communication skills and highly fluent in written and spoken English. Incumbent is expected to articulate his/her sound judgment and formulate convincing investment theses. Solid writing skills and experience in writing for a wide audience are important A self-starter and able to work independently on assigned tasks. However, equally important is to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a team environment as needed to pro-actively contribute to team activities A CFA charterholder or currently undertaking the CFA programme is a plus but not a requirement as is familiarity with sustainability and ESG related research Familiarity and interest in sustainability topics as well as ESG-related bond frameworks is a plus Familiarity with Bloomberg and programming skills also a plus.
