Job Description

The Senior Middleware DevOps Engineer is a mid-level management role who will be responsible for driving to enable and increase adoption of middleware platform with Self-services enabled into CICD and DevOps Practices, support, monitor and enhance the current platform & pipeline operations and implementations by working with CTI and global engineering teams. The overall objective is to coordinate, manage and advise a team of professionals on technical and strategic concepts and activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, evaluate, provide resources, and drive a team towards realistic goals
  • Apply technical expertise to strategize for current/future technological developments and serve as point of contact for technical questions
  • Apply knowledge of concepts and procedures to resolve issues
  • Responsible for delivery of end results and resource planning; shares responsibility for budget management which directly impacts the Technology Infrastructure area
  • Contribute to formulation of strategies for infrastructure technologies functional areas across
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of how Technology Infrastructure integrates within the overall technology function to achieve business goals
  • Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information; resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements, evaluate controls to help mitigate negative outcomes through prevention, detection and correction
  • Persuades and influences others through communication skills; may negotiate with external parties
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Required Strong Automation skills and work with internal platform team to centralize
  • Implement and support DevOps, CI/CD process, OpenShift container platform across the GCT APAC & EMEA teams.
  • Fine tune and automate the existing manual steps and processes
  • Design, implement and support the necessary solution as needed by development teams.
  • Lead the team of offshore staff and provide technical guidance to the team
  • Work as point of contact and Lead for India team within the DevOps CICD team.
  • Work with different stakeholders such as development teams, infrastructure, project management, testing to come up with implementation and track it to closure.
  • Partner with CTI (infra) and Engineering teams to address the gaps by designing the new solutions and implementing them.
  • Guide & Mentor offshore team consisting of vendor staff on day-to-day tasks
  • Generate reports & metrics on adoption, pending issues etc.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Desired Technical Skills:
  • Experience in WebSphere ND, Tibco BW, MQ, NGINIX, Nodejs, APACHE Tomcat is must.
  • Must have experience with IBM RTC, JIRA, Confluence, Bit bucket, Jenkins, Ansible and BMC automation tools.
  • hands on working Experience on continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Experience in Monitoring Tools like Splunk and AppDynamics is required for daily operations
  • Experience in public cloud providers such as Pivotal cloud foundry, AWS, GCP. (Professional certification is must in relevant areas).
  • Good understanding of Infra-as-code and Policy-as-code, must have worked with immutable infrastructure, IaC principles, Agile, Lean and Continuous Delivery approaches
  • Possess knowledge of systems, servers, vpn, load balancers, storages, security, networking, monitoring, alerting etc.
  • Prior experience with SQL, NoSQL databases and/or Linux will be an added advantage.
  • Must be skilled with scripting languages (Python/Bash shell etc.) to automate dynamic cloud infrastructure.
Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience in a Technology Infrastructure role with people management experience
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience
  • Experience in a Financial Services or large complex and/or global environment preferred.
Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
