It houses V.E and 427, both affiliates of Moody’s. OBJECTIVE:
The AVP Software Engineering will direct a team of UI professionals building and working on enterprise grade customer facing Web application hosted in AWS. The AVP Software Engineering will provide technical and team leadership through coaching and mentorship. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure successful project delivery by: – Working with Product, Ops, and Engineering to set the technical direction and vision from a Software Engineering perspective
– Supervising individual contributor’s tasks and monitoring their implementation
– Decision responsibility for design and technical implementation issues This role requires a passionate engineer who is versatile and creative, who can not only lead, but to be an integral part of a small tight team that will build out the next generation of ESG software solutions offered by Moody’s. – Mentor members of the Engineering Team on Software Development standard processes and concepts
– Lead the design, development, testing, and delivery of a maintainable, scalable UI with design systems and component libraries
– Work closely with business and technical stakeholders in design sessions to understand business needs, functional / non-functional requirements, and apply appropriate patterns and practices
– Lead in an agile team setting to deliver high-quality systems and value to our clients
– Maintain professional and technical knowledge by following the broader industry, attending training sessions and educational workshops
– Assist the team in achieving established goals and departmental objectives
– Contribute to roadmap development, execution, and releases
– Be part of an Agile team, participate in all Agile ceremonies & activities and be accountable for the sprint deliverable; Qualifications
THE ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Assist the team in achieving established goals and departmental objectives
– Contribute to roadmap development, execution, and releases
– Be part of an Agile team, participate in all Agile ceremonies & activities and be accountable for the sprint deliverable; Candidates are expected to demonstrate experience in each of the above responsibilities and focus areas, with the following specific qualifications: – 6+ years experience delivering large-scale systems built with React, Angular, Typescript and other Javascript libraries. Experience with Material UI and High Charts libraries is a plus
– Competent in Service / Microservice -oriented architecture/web services (REST) and CQRS
– Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a team of Developers or Engineers
– Strong communication and collaboration skills
– Ability to work with a sense of urgency
– Strong problem-solving skills
– A technology background
– Deep understanding of Agile and how to run Agile teams
– Experience with technologies such as JSON, HTML, CSS and Web API
– A passion for software development and proven experience with standard processes and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
– Understanding of SQL skills (NoSQL experience is a plus)
– A passion for innovation REQUIRED:
– Clear articulation and detailed communication to leadership and partners.
– Organized, detailed and has ability to multitask.
– Experience with JIRA, Git, GitHub.
– Experience with SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
– Strong sense of self-motivation, organization, and attention to details. PREFERRED:
– BS or Higher in Computer Science or related technical field.
– Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies: Snowflake, CodeBuild, DynamoDB.

For Colorado-based roles only: the anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 125,550.00 to $158,250.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual performance incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
