Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.

THE DEPARTMENT

This opportunity sits within the Asia Wealth Management Operations team based in Singapore. The Operations department is dynamic, fast paced, and growing. The Operations department sits directly with the AWM business unit and is connected into the entire AWM organization, therefore giving significant visibility for the Operations staff and constant opportunities for face to face interaction with our internal stakeholders.

Banking Operations opportunity:

Banking Operations is a diverse team and provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain exposure on a variety of products and knowledge. The role is part production based and part project oversight based, giving the candidate significant opportunity to upgrade their knowledge across both areas.

The team\'s role is focused mainly on the lifecycle management of our banking products: term loans and deposits for our UHNW client base and is also responsible for supporting several regulatory control process as well as the AML screening function for the same client base.

The candidate in addition to performing the above function will also need to liaise with the front office business units, outside counterparties and global operations staff within the Firm to resolve queries and day to day issues. The candidate will be expected to analyze and improve processes, identify and manage risk and potentially guide junior members of the team or perform some aspects of supervisory responsibilities. As such communication and organizational skills as well as attention to detail and a readiness to escalate issues with a sense of urgency are of upmost importance.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have:-

  • Minimum 3-5 years\' experience in the financial sector, preferably in a middle office/ banking operations role (focused on banking products such as loans and deposits). Other relevant experience in a wealth management firm will be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and handling large data for the purposes of analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge on banking regulations (HKMA/MAS) particularly on transaction review/ AML/CFT and regulatory returns
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Superb attention to detail, accuracy & quality.
  • Strong time management and task prioritisation skills. Willing to work additional hours to ensure all deliverables are performed within required timescales.
  • Strong sense of urgency, accountability and ownership
  • Focus on guardianship and readiness to escalate: ensuring that issues are identified, escalated, resolved and reported on a timely basis
  • Passion, energy and enthusiasm. Is a self-starter who takes individual ownership for work quality and improvement. Leads by examples working with drive and determination
  • Ability to work well under pressure and time criticality tasks, lending control and order to a difficult or pressurised situation
  • Ability to absorb information and learns quickly whilst displaying self starter characteristics.
  • Innovation and creative skills - challenges the existing processes and status quo.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
