We are looking for an experienced backend engineer who will be part of our Creation team, focusing on the music making (creation) parts of BandLab.


You'll be in direct contact with the product managers, designers, mobile engineers, web engineers and QA engineers, that work in our Studio, Effects, Sounds and Creator Tools projects. The working environment is high-performing and fast-paced, so be ready to design, implement and manage web services that impact millions of users, and directly influence how they make and publish music to the world.


We are a diverse and distributed team, where some roles are tied to particular regions or time zones to ensure effective connection and collaboration during work hours. If you are considering this role as a remote opportunity outside of Singapore, please note that our standard working hours are 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (local time) for everyone within the GMT+2 to GMT+9 time zones. Candidates based outside of this range will be expected to adjust their working hours to align with the team's schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Software development based on high-level requirements: estimating, developing, code review, performance optimization, documentation, testing Collaborate with team members on design and implementation Communicate with other teams during the analysis and development phase Design and implement RESTful APIs Write understandable, testable, and maintainable code

Develop and/or maintain services to support audio processing

, creation and publishing of music made via Studio or providing samples via Sounds platform

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential requirements:

At least 5 years of software engineering experience Proficiency in SQL, work experience with RDBMS and NoSQL Understanding of software engineering best practices including unit testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and source control Ability to work in a disciplined Agile environment with a commitment to appropriate engineering practices and regular delivery cycles

Nice-to-haves:

Hands-on experience building backend systems that handle audio files Proficiency in any of Azure Log Analytics Kusto, Google BigQuery standard SQL, AWS CloudWatch Logs Insights Strong knowledge of .NET/C# and ASP.NET Core, an open-source web development framework | .NET Core or Javascript and NodeJS Understanding of CQRS and Event Sourcing, music production concepts (like mixing, mastering, compression, etc) and music making software (like Digital Audio Workstations [Ableton, Cubase, Logic, etc])*
Work experience with any cloud provider: AWS, Azure, GCP
