POSITION Purpose Reporting to the Advanced Analytics & Information Manager, the BI Technical Lead is responsible for facilitating the development of effective analytics capabilities to identify opportunities to improve business performance. The BI Technical Lead will work at the forefront of BI and data analytics delivering on BAC’s corporate business intelligence, operational forecasting and predictive analytics programme.
Tasks and Responsibilities Role Specific Data Mining

  • Collect, organise, synthesize data; summarise findings, develop conclusions and recommendations from
appropriate data sources. Development
  • Responsible for the analysis, design, development, enhancement, maintenance, and support of the
Modern Data Platform environment including Data Stores, Staging, Archival, ETL processes, and related code development.
  • Gathering systems requirements, analysis and design, documenting functional and technical requirements,
technical design presentation skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people, time management and prioritisation.
  • Contribute to the maturity of BAC data warehouse sub-system including development, regular data clean-
up, data migration and archiving procedures.
  • Development of Data Factory Pipelines and related ETL components.
  • Document and maintain corporate metadata repositories and MDP artefacts such as data dictionaries,
architecture diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, source-to-target data mappings, data models, and data flow diagrams. Data Analysis
  • Proficient at analysing problems and coming up with creative solutions as well as producing methodologies
or effective data management.
  • Ability to collect, collate and carry out complex data analysis and report findings to the business.
  • Implementing data warehouse using MS Azure toolset

Corporate
  • Comply with all applicable laws, policies and procedures relating to:
o Corporate risk management and legal compliance; o Work health and safety (WHS); o Bullying and harassment; o Security; and o Environment.
  • Participate in any training identified as required in relation to the above.
  • Assist in the identification, reporting and management of business risks and workplace incidents (including,
but not limited to, those relating to WHS, Security and Environment) and participate as required in any investigation process undertaken relating to an incident.

  • Bachelor degree in Business Computing or equivalent
  • 8 years+ solid ETL/ELTdevelopment experience
  • 8 years+ experience using Microsoft BI toolset (SQL Server, Power BI
  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Azure suite (data lake, data factory, data bricks)
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft machine learning and cognitive services, software and platforms
(e.g., ML Studio, Data Science, Cognitive Toolkit)
  • 2 years+ experience in Agile
  • Advanced SQL skills (TSQL and ANSI SQL)
  • Familiarity with Data Architecture and Modelling concepts
Preferred
  • Familiarity with Data Governance concepts including Data Dictionaries
  • Working knowledge of Advanced Analytics concepts (Machine Learning)
  • Intermediate experience Azure DevOps including code repositories and deployments pipelines

Knowledge and Technical Proficiency
  • Advanced SQL skills (TSQL and ANSI SQL)
  • Familiarity with Data Architecture and Modelling concepts
  • Excellent knowledge of MS SQL Server
  • Code Version Control using GIT via Azure DevOps Repos
