They have their first customers already but now need to increase their production capacity.The Bioprocess Lead will be responsible for leading a small team of scientists to help develop their manufacturing process from lab scale through to full commercial manufacturing.Manufacturing will be done by a CMO based in China so not only will you be working with the internal team but the external partner to manufacture products. This will involve a mix of tech transfer work but also experimentation to improve process.The Bioprocess Lead will be responsible for:

• Oversee bioreactor operations, downstream processing, and sample analysis; drive process optimization using data collection, DoE, and reactor modeling for yield improvement and scale-up.
• Prepare SOPs and manage tech transfer of strains and bioprocesses to contract manufacturers; collaborate with teams in India and partners in China.
• Train and mentor junior team members, ensuring alignment across molecular, bioproduction, and veterinary research teams.

The Bioprocess Lead will be/have:

• Experience with benchtop microbial or fungal bioreactor systems, ideally including yeast secreted protein production optimization and industrial-scale fermentation.
• Relevant educational background: Bachelor\'s degree with 3+ years, Master\'s degree with 2+ years, or a PhD; more experienced candidates are welcome.
• Familiarity with downstream processing, analytical methods, and demonstrated experience in tech transfer and scale-up.
• Chinese language fluency preferred for internal & external communications and engagement
