We are seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to join our Asia Pacific Gas, Power and Carbon Markets team. Our team of experts, spread across six continents, provides analysis and insight to the largest corporations across utilities and generation, oil & gas, equipment manufacturers, banking and finance, and government.

You will work with our high-powered analyst team across Singapore, Sydney, Beijing and Tokyo for a holistic understanding of the dynamics between gas, coal, power and carbon markets across Asia. You\'re one of those people who have a passion for energy markets and you want to be at the edge of change in this exciting industry. You naturally form original opinions, and you have a great ability to communicate your insights effectively. You have strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, along with a particular aptitude for understanding the complexity of traded markets.

We\'ll trust you to:

• Conduct research and analysis on the Asian power markets by examining changes to supply and demand fundamentals, price drivers and policies
• Develop and maintain datasets, models and tools to further our understanding of short-, medium-, and long-term market dynamics
• Deliver both quantitative and qualitative research utilizing the Bloomberg Terminal and other simulation tools to develop market insights and analysis
• Effectively communicate views and findings through regular written reports and market insight stories through various Microsoft Office application forms and Bloomberg platforms

You\'ll need to have:

• Atleast three years of experience in the energy or commodities sectors within a research, analysis, consulting, publishing, trading, financial or investment environment
• Proficient in Excel including experience working with large datasets and building models
• Demonstrated experience in data analytics/business intelligence applications and programming languages such as Python, R
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization

We\'d love to see:

• Existing knowledge of power market dynamics and fundamentals, merit order analysis and price forecasting - especially for Asia
• Experience in using Plexos Energy Modeling Software
• Language skills in Mandarin, Japanese or Korean
