Job Description

Royal Ocean Marine is seeking a Boarding Officer to join our client\'s team in the maritime industry. As a Boarding Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that vessels entering and leaving the port comply with all relevant laws and regulations. You will work to maintain the security of the port, inspect vessels to check for compliance, and enforce any necessary rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of vessels entering and leaving the port to check for compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Monitor vessel activity and report any suspicious or unusual behavior to appropriate authorities.
• Work collaboratively with other port staff to maintain the security of the port.
• Participate in training and professional development programs to stay current with industry regulations and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain reports of vessel activity, inspection results and other relevant data.
• Liaise with port authorities, government agencies, and industry stakeholders as required.
• Provide assistance to vessels entering and leaving the port as requested.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Maritime, Ship Management or other relevant discipline
• Prior experience in a maritime environment, preferably in a law enforcement or inspection capacity.
• Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing maritime operations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders, including vessel crew, port staff, and government officials.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information.
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours and be on-call as required.
