Job Description


UWCSEA Dover is looking for a Boarding Service Executive to join the Boarding team.The Boarding Services Executive will work both independently and as a team member in managing routine and special portfolios and projects, liaising with other departments, external suppliers & parents to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the boarding house & the residential community. An interest in social media and website maintenance would be an advantage.In addition, Boarding Services Executive contribute to the pastoral care of a multi-national community of boarders 13- 20 years old and implement the residential life curriculum to support students in their well-being and preparation for the future.Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a full spectrum of administrative support such as student pass application, travel arrangements i.e flight booking, visa application), payment submission for students and vendors, and act as custodian of boarders\xe2\x80\x99 important documents and money.
  • Assist in implementing the residential life curriculum and supervision and care of the boarding facilities and surroundings.
  • Responsible for pastoral care by providing support, and care and ensuring the well-being of the boarders within the house family and functioning of the boarding house offices. Implement procedures and policies to ensure all safeguarding standards are met for all residential students.
  • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with boarding students and parents, provide consistent and culturally inclusive approaches to the management of students\xe2\x80\x99 behaviour and ensure the development and maintenance of a caring community. Communicating to the team on all matters related to the life and operations of the Boarding House.
  • Liaising with various departments, such as Facilities & Security, Finance, Procurement, Comms and Admissions as and when needed. Liaising with external agencies such as ICA, hospitals, banks, laundry & catering vendors and travel agents as needed.
Person Specifications
  • University Degree / Diploma with minimum 2 years of equivalent work experience
  • First Aid Certificate would be an advantage, but can obtained once employed.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide consistent and appropriate levels of supervision of adolescents and young adults.
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing effective working relationships based on mutual respect between staff and students.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team and as an individual.
  • Able to multi-task and show initiative
  • Ability to manage portfolios within the boarding house requirements
  • Customer-oriented, flexible and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • An understanding of the organisational and operational practices appropriate to the position.
  • An understanding of the growth and development of adolescents and young adults.
  • An understanding of the legal and safeguarding requirements for the supervision of students.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of supporting students in a residential environment.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting deadlines and following procedures.
  • Demonstrated success in the application of relevant technologies in administration, proficient in Google Suites
  • Demonstrated success in project management and working with teams to effectively manage projects
  • The ability to organise and self-manage during holiday periods
