Job Description


Job Purpose

The Branch Manager supports Trains BU in meeting the Workplace Safety & Health, Environmental Protection and Fire Safety regulatory requirements, as well as ensuring all aspects of implementing, maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS) within SMRT Trains. The Branch Manager is also responsible to lead and successfully implement the Contractor Safety Management Program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and review the Contractor Safety Management program
  • WSH support to Trains BU projects, A&A and modification works
  • Support Line/Division SSQO to identify, evaluate and mitigate workplace safety risks in workplace noise, ergonomics, flammable materials, toxic substances and etc
  • Develop and maintain Trains Quality governance policies, frameworks and procedures.
  • Develop strategic quality plan and implement quality programs for continual improvement.
  • Oversee and maintain Trains SSQ Management Review meetings (TSSQ).
  • Oversee document control and management of Trains-level documents across management domains.
  • System owner for DMS and Trains SSQ resource page.
  • Promote quality awareness and guide SSQO/SQOs to ensure alignment to policies, procedures and standards.
  • Plan and utilise budget and resources to fulfil the workplan objectives for the Branch
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks / projects as and when assigned
Qualifications & Work Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree, preferably in engineering field
  • MOM-Registered WSH Officer
  • 5 years of managerial work experience in WSH role
  • Knowledge of MRT operations and maintenance is advantageous
  • Work experience in project management is advantageous
Skills

Technical skills include:
  • Good knowledge on WSH, Environmental and Fire Safety Act and Regulations, Code of Practices and Singapore Standards
  • Proficient in WSH Risk Management
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Generic skills include:
  • Strong leadership to influence and motivate team members
  • Continual improvement of work processes
  • Good communication and strong analytical skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Good time management
