We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Analyst Lead. Principal Responsibilities Wealth and Personal Banking serves more than 50 million customers worldwide with a complete range of banking and wealth management services, enabling customers to manage their finances and protect and build their financial futures. We're building a standalone global wallet and payments app, with a narrow proposition, but the breadth to reach 10 million customers across 32+ markets, accelerating our international ambition and extending HSBC’s global reach. We are passionate about approaching things differently and currently looking for ambitious and motivated individuals who are keen to embrace growth and tackle the impending challenges in this fast evolving industry, joining us on our journey. The purpose of this role is to manage the central backlog with the Product leads and also manage a team of skilled business analyst/domain experts. The role holder must be an energized, ambitious and high performing change leader who is able to quickly become a ‘trusted advisor’ to the project’s leadership team through functional expertise on Wallets, FX, Payments (domestic & cross-border) and/or Multi-Currency Cards, Treasury and Liquidity Management etc. The successful role holders will need to be able demonstrate the follow key attributes:

  • Design Led Thinking – an awareness of end to end customer focused solution design and architecture alignment / problem solving
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities Problem Definition – Understand customer’s needs, formulate problem statement, identify root cause, conduct market research to understand industry trends and innovative ideas, review feedbacks from customers and users to outlines new opportunities.
  • Requirements Elicitation and Managing Backlog – Liaise with Product Leads and manage a backlog at enterprise level that involves translate business ideas, rationale and purpose (WHY). Document into a backlog of epics & user stories with clear acceptance criteria (WHAT). Support the definition of feasible, viable & desirable solutions, that are risks compliant and operationally efficient (HOW)
  • Business Analysis – Bring strong domain expertise on Wallets, FX, Payments (domestic & cross-border) and/or Multi-Currency Cards, Customer Onboarding, Treasury & Liquidity Management etc. Proactively structure point of view and recommendations, supported by logical thinking and data points. Prioritize demands, assess solution options, support story points estimation
  • Delivery – Identify continuously impediments/ blockers. Define resolution & mitigation approaches. Provide inputs to Sprint Planning/ Review/ Show & Tell. Ensure clarify on scope with minimum position for a releasable product
Leadership & Teamwork
  • Manage the Business Analyst team members to provide guidance, coach in the adoption of best practices
  • Lead the Business Analysis Chapter across all Tribes, curating knowledge materials & processes to enable overall consistency and best-in-class Business Analysis practice
  • Work in a collaborative environment as part of a cross-functional team (a.k.a. squad) grouping various skillets and disciplines.
  • Bridge the gap between team members, be the core liaison facilitating the partnership across disciplines (product, technology, risks, operations, legal, design, etc.)
  • Maintain trusted relationships with all team members and solution vendors, facilitating overall consensus
  • Equally learn from others and teach to others to produce collectively the best outcomes and business value
Functional Knowledge
  • Expertise in at least one of the following domains: Wallets, FX, Payments (domestic & cross-border) and/or Multi-Currency Cards will be a must
  • Knowledge of Digital Onboarding (with eID&V / eKYC capabilities), Payment & Card STP Operations, Risks Operations and Customer Service is nice to have
  • Breadth of experience in Mobile delivery, integrating with multiple Service Partners

Requirements
Requirements Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Business Analysis domain having led teams of BA
  • Prior Product owner and Scrum Master experience is a plus
  • Champion in usage of JIRA and Confluence (and similar toolsets)
  • Experience working in fast paced Agile environment (Scrum) functioning at scaled (e.g. SAFe)
  • Experience within a large, matrix organisation
  • Experience in managing successfully in challenging environments
Skills
  • Able to demonstrate actions and an understanding in working in the best interests of the customer
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including effective presentation and coaching
