Job Description


Gaia Foods is on an exciting path of growth and is looking for a Business and Operations Manager who will work on challenging projects to improve operational processes and business standards.

Position:

Required background:
  • BS/MS in Engineering, Technological, or any scientific discipline.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in operations, office/admin management and maintenance.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience preferable in the Biotech/Healthcare industry.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing & implementing Standard Operating Procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing day-to-day support for the operation of the R&D lab and office while maintaining inventory & logistics.
  • Developing strategic objectives for infrastructure development and support maintenance and scale-up of the facility.
  • Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity and quality.
  • Work closely with the scientists and identify areas of opportunities to improve facilities to increase cost-saving; prepare and present findings and recommendations to the management team.
  • Review and negotiates research agreements, material transfer (MTA), data transfer (DTA), non-disclosure (NDA) agreements, and Memorandum of understanding (MOU) in liaison with Shiok Meat’s legal team.
  • Assist in planning projects/programs/grants/task forces and proactively monitor their progress, resolving issues.
  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded or competition programs.
  • Maintain records and evaluate compliance against existing standards, guidelines, methodologies, policies, and procedures.
  • Arrange audit schedule and conduct internal audits to prepare the company for external inspection.
  • Advise and assist with all license applications/renewal/termination.
  • Coordinate with vendors and conduct site supervision with contractors upon award & completion of the job.
  • Facilitate the purchase of equipment, materials, and supplies for the research laboratory.
  • Facilitate with IT vendor on IT equipment purchase and to solve any IT issues.
  • Liaise with external vendors for the preventive maintenance of equipment, ensuring that the required schedules are adhered thus maintaining the equipment warranties and compliance.
  • Perform goods receipt and provide information to the finance team for the payment schedule.
  • Monitoring and informing HQ on overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.

  • Highly motivated, innovative, and believes in the idea of cultivated meat technology.
  • Works well independently, as well as in a team and can coordinate.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to keep comprehensive written records and documentation.
  • Have strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and scientific data presentation to a variety of audiences.
