Job Description


Life Science Incubator is a state-of-the-art shared laboratory for start-ups and other companies that need flexible access to laboratory + office space. Our members are Biotech, Foodtech and Medtech companies and work on innovative solutions to make the world a better place. To grow our ecosystem, we are looking for a Sales and Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team and be the liaison between our members, partners and key stakeholders. Your role will be highly diverse and will include identifying and converting potential member leads, managing online campaigns and organising events. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads and managing key accounts. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with members, from first contact through their life within Life Science Incubator. No day is the same at LSI, so we are looking for a driven and flexible team player who is the ambassador of the Life Science Incubator and the exciting ecosystem around it.

Responsibilities

  • To drive a growing stream of income by:
    • actively recruiting new members, partners and sponsors
    • identifying opportunities to deliver paid events, trainings or development programmes together with ecosystem partners
  • Manage the ecosystem partnerships and assist with market research
  • Renewals (negotiations) for members and partners
  • Present Life Science Incubator online and offline such as events and facility tours
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services together with the laboratory manager
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients an ecosystem partners
  • Organise and run events together with partners and key stakeholders
  • Social media updates and online presence
  • Manage the laboratory manager to ensure daily, weekly and monthly task are completed and customers are satisfied with service received
  • Monthly billings and payments
Requirements and skills
  • Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive or similar role.
  • Applicants with a scientific background and a knack for sales and BD are highly welcome to apply.
  • Preferably having worked with entrepreneurs, start-ups, learning/ tinkering labs, incubators or incubation consultancy
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate, build and maintain strong working relationships with start-ups, entrepreneurs, mentors, universities, research institutions, industry experts, associations, chamber of commerce, government agencies and VC investors
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Familiarity with MS Excel (analysing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations
