Team StructureThis role would suit someone who is keen on being involved in the full range of business development activities. This will include advising and supporting partners and associates on the strategic direction of marketing, business development and client development activities, working on pitches and proposals, as well as leading on events, award and directory submissions, and communications.You will be responsible for supporting the business development function across the Singapore and Southeast Asia region. You will report to the business development manager and be supported by a small team. The team in Singapore will also work closely with our
business development colleagues in Hong Kong and the office manager in Seoul to integrate our practice areas and general marketing across the Asia-Pacific region.Our Chief BD and client officer is based in London. You will be part of a wider network of business development and marketing professionals around the world with team members (mainly in London) responsible for business development, key client development, media relations, web and communications, events, and CRM.Main ResponsibilitiesMarketing Literature
  • Profile sheets and CVs
  • Maintaining and updating the profile sheet log.Liaising with external suppliers (printers/typesetters/designers) to support the production of marketingcollateral.
  • Managing reception area displays of marketing literature.
  • Proofreading of marketing literature.
  • Uploading and maintaining documents on the Intranet (QUEST).
Legal Directories (Legal 500/Chambers)
  • Assisting with compiling submissions and uploading them onto the system.
  • Updating rankings and commentary documents (including profile sheets) for practice groups following
  • publication.
Intranet (QUEST), CRM system (InterAction)
  • Keeping the department\'s Intranet pages up to date.
  • Events
  • Assisting with events on behalf of practice areas, including client seminars, social events and webinars both in
Singapore and internationally. * Managing stock levels and distribution of printed materials and corporate gifts.
  • Managing events logistics, including deliveries and CRM systems.
Invoices
  • Pre-approval forms for events.
  • Processing all invoices to meet payment runs and other deadlines, gaining approval for payment.
  • Liaising with suppliers and the accounts department in order to resolve queries and chase
urgent/outstanding payments. * Preparing expense claim form for paymentsGeneral BD team co-ordination and support
  • Updating the BD database.
  • Booking meetings/appointments, rooms and conference calls - rescheduling as necessary, diary
management. * Typing, formatting and editing ad hoc requests - documents, presentations etc.
  • Checking presentations for brand compliance and making amends/recommendations as appropriate.
  • Updating various practice group related memberships and directory listings.
  • Dealing with other ad hoc tasks and projects from BDM\'s, fee earners, secretaries.
  • Maintaining order of the BD storage space. Keeping a log of items stored.
  • Occasional internet research projects.
International Offices
  • Ensuring marketing literature is distributed to the international offices as and when required.
  • Assisting international BD teams with requests for information and marketing literature.
  • Working closely with international BD teams and ensuring they are kept up-to-date with upcoming projects.
Attributes/Skills Required
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent team worker and able to work well within a job share capacity.
  • Good work ethic and focussed.
  • Initiative to solve problems and a \'can do\' attitude with a mature outlook.
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills \xe2\x80\x93 ability to prioritise and execute a variety of tasks and to manage
own quality of work and deadlines quickly and accurately. * Strong attention to detail.
  • A good ambassador for the team and the firm with an outgoing personality that is happy to get involved in
organising and promoting the firm at events. * Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Good literacy skills.
  • Flexibility of working outside normal office hours where necessary.
  • Looking for a career in Business Development.
  • A university degree in marketing is preferred.
  • No previous experience required - on the job training and support will be given.
