Based in Singapore as the Director for the Global Solutions Development Centre for the Life Sciences and Applied Markets group within Agilent, you will manage this exciting team that is focused on driving growth in this critical area. Join us to build the capability to drive Agilent’s analytical instrumentation into Pharma/Biopharma and Applied Market application areas. The business development director manages a team of experienced scientists and is part of a global team to develop workflow solutions to Agilent’s customers, in conjunction with involvement in research partnership opportunities both local and international.
To accomplish this, you will have the responsibility to:

  • Manage the GSDC team to drive Agilent's portfolio and solutions in cutting edge, Pharma/Biopharma assays and emerging Applied Market opportunities.
  • Responsible for managing the development of analytical solutions which spans across Agilent’s analytical instrumentation, reagents, consumables and services models to successfully penetrate and gain share.
  • Work closely with field and other internal stakeholders to identify viable options for development of unique solutions to customer workflows.
  • Measure & manage the outcomes of key partnerships to ensure on-going program success including forecast, customer experience etc.
  • Develop the GSDC Strategic Plan that links outcomes to stakeholder needs.
  • Support government, industry and research collaborations as Agilent’s representative.
  • Work closely with members of other sales teams to ensure that customer relationships are fully leveraged for all revenue types.


  • Master’s or Higher Degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or a related discipline plus a minimum of 5-7 years in industry.
  • Experience with instruments and/or consumables in the life science and/or industrial market space.
  • Experience with Mass Spec and related analytical products, especially in Pharma/Biopharma workflows (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. Be able to demonstrate the ability to set priorities based on alignment with business goals and strategic direction, define timelines and deliver to commitments.
  • Experience working with government agencies in collaborative projects (or similar) is desired
  • Demonstrated use of negotiations and strong communications skills.
  • Must exhibit strategic thinking, teamwork, creativity, planning and execution skills backed by strong analytical and decision making.
