Carta is looking for a Business Development/ Partnerships Intern to join our APAC and Middle East team in August 2024.As a Business Development Intern you\'ll work to:

  • Identify Carta\'s ideal partners for each market in APAC and Middle East across the VC and startup business units
  • Prospect via multiple channels like Email, Phone, LinkedIn to generate conversations and book meetings
  • Build and manage sizable partner lead lists in order to glean unique insights and drive desirable business outcomes
  • Ensure data integrity across critical business systems (e.g. Salesforce, Outreach, Luma, and Carta)
  • Organize and support in-person and online events for our partners, startups and VC communities
  • Work closely with the sales, marketing and customer success teams
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned
The Team You\'ll Work WithCarta opened its Singapore office in 2021, and since then, has been building a world-class team to support the startup ecosystem across Asia Pacific. The Singapore team is lean and agile, and composed of local venture industry experts and Carta experts.The Business Development/ Partnerships Intern for APAC and Middle East will report to Carta\'s Head of Partnerships and Business Development, APAC + Middle East. This is a role that interfaces with both the VC and Startup business units at Carta. You will get the chance to work firsthand on a range of projects, including in-person and online VC + Startup events, partnership strategy, partner content, new market entry and more. This role will give you the opportunity to try out the different realms of partnerships and gain the necessary skill sets to jumpstart your career in B2B tech.As a Business Development/ Partnerships Intern at Carta, you will be an integral part of growing this function in this region. You will drive demand in the market and help oversee Carta\'s growth in APAC and Middle East.About You
  • Emotional Intelligence - Ability to read emotional cues, understand a partner\'s needs, and navigate a conversation with meaningful outcomes
  • Customer-Facing Experience - Experience working in a high volume customer-facing role. Able to professionally communicate with founders, VCs and senior executives
  • Grit - Ambitious, driven, and fearless in the face of rejection
  • Coach-ability - Tremendous desire to constantly improve in a \xe2\x80\x9cno-egos\xe2\x80\x9d and high velocity environment
  • An Interest in APAC + Middle East\'s Startup + VC Ecosystem: Understanding of the startup + VC scene and a passion for keeping abreast of the latest trends from across the ecosystem.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to break down and effectively communicate complex topics
  • Authorised to work in Singapore without sponsorship
Nice To Have
  • Experience managing data in a CRM system (Preferably: Salesforce)
  • Proficiencies with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (GSuite)
  • Knowledge of venture capital and startup ecosystem
  • Experience working at a high-growth software company or venture capital firm
