Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Director within the Loan Platforms group to play a critical role in business strategy, expanding our existing client base in the APAC region, and further developing our product offerings which includes trade settlement platform ClearPar. The individual will be an SME on a wide range of tools for the complex syndicated loan asset class, responsible for client management and adoption in the APAC region, and work regularly with colleagues in product, operations and sales to create and execute business growth and new solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment, is self-motivated, and demonstrates a strong understanding of the financial services industry and the vendor/client relationship.

Based in Singapore, you will be part of an experienced global Business Development team who cover the North America, EMEA and APAC regions. This will include working with S&P's best in breed Loan Platforms within the syndicated loan market, including ClearPar, Loan Reconciliation, ADFlow and Loan Processor.

The Loan Platforms Business Development team primary responsibility is to facilitate continued growth and diversification, while also ensuring revenue retention through strong collaboration with our clients, both with key users and senior decision makers. Responsibilities will include:

  • Help drive all aspects of business development including lead generation and client adoption, relationship building, high level solutions design and commercial strategy with a core focus on the Asia Pacific market.
  • Regular interaction with clients, including product demos, presentations, and pitches.
  • Relationship development and cultivation with key customers and prospects, including identify opportunities and solutions. Retaining and expanding a strong network and brand is an integral part of the role.
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of a variety of factors including a strong understanding of client need.
  • Work closely with product, development, and operations teams to deliver new solutions, including partnerships with other internal groups.
  • Prepare and analyse commercial proposals and contracts in conjunction with legal and sales.
  • Help maintain key client account details, accurate pipeline, and forecasting. Global responsibilities and deliverables will form both individual and business wide objectives.
  • Thought leadership and partnership with industry leading associations. Excellent understanding of regional loan market trends and opportunities.
This role has a strong emphasis on understanding the industry and operational challenges our clients are facing, how our solutions are best suited to tackle these, and identify what new advancements and capabilities are required to support the market and remain best in class.

Experience and Competencies

You are dynamic, focussed and target oriented and enjoy making an impact towards the growth and success of our business. Qualifications and skills we are looking for include:

Bachelor's degree (Accounting or Finance preferred) and previous syndicated loan market experience either within a bank or technology firm

Experience with ClearPar settlement platform and loan closing process (primary and secondary)

Client-facing experience and previous of building strong client relationships. Posses a strong network and brand within the market.

Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience presenting and providing demos to clients and senior stakeholders

Strong PC skills - Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Salesforce, other S&P loan products/systems

Strong work ethic - organized, attention to detail, analytical, technical, leadership qualities

Passionate about the loan asset class and keeps up to date on market news and developments
