The ideal candidate will bring together a scientific background, business development expertise, and operational leadership skills to drive growth, build partnerships, and ensure the financial sustainability of GeDaC. This position will be key to advancing our facility's presence in the genomics and data analytics fields, particularly in supporting cancer research initiatives.   • Lead the day-to-day operations of the GeDaC facility, ensuring high-quality service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance GeDaC's impact within the Cancer Science Institute and across Singapore's research community.
  • Identify and address operational bottlenecks and areas for improvement, optimizing workflow to increase productivity and client satisfaction.
Marketing and Business Development:
  • Create and execute a comprehensive marketing plan to promote GeDaC's genomics and data analytics services, targeting both academic and industry partners.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including principal investigators, research labs, healthcare professionals, and corporate partners.
  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of advancements and emerging trends in genomics and bioinformatics, using insights to inform service offerings and identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Represent GeDaC at conferences, workshops, and networking events, showcasing the facility's capabilities and building a strong client network.
Financial Management and Revenue Growth:
  • Develop and manage the facility's budget, monitoring revenue and expenditure to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients and vendors, setting pricing structures that reflect market value and service costs.
  • Track service utilization and generate periodic performance reports, using data to drive business strategies and make informed decisions about resource allocation.
  • Oversee billing, invoicing, and collection processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Product Development and Client Relations:
  • Collaborate with scientific and technical teams to develop new services and products that meet the evolving needs of the genomics and data analytics research community.
  • Engage with clients to understand their research objectives, providing tailored solutions and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, addressing concerns promptly and fostering long-term partnerships.
Qualifications
  • At least Master's Degree in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field, with a strong foundation in cancer genomics or biomedical research.
  • Proven experience in business development, marketing, or management roles within a scientific or technical services environment, preferably in core facilities or research institutes.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute business strategies that drive growth and financial sustainability.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proactive and collaborative management style.
  • Deep understanding of genomics, bioinformatics, and data analytics, with the ability to translate scientific capabilities into client-focused solutions.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue tracking, with a track record of managing financial performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging diverse audiences, including researchers, clinicians, and corporate clients.
  • Forward-thinking with the ability to foresee industry shifts and adjust strategies accordingly.
