Based on these to provide solution(s)/suggestion(s) for service enhancement. He/she will be working closely internally across different functions including ISC commercial team, cargo flow team, business control team, and operation (HO/RO). The Business Development Manager has strong knowledge of the market ASIA-ISC service setup, vessel line up planning and deployment on each CMA operated service, CMA cargo mix/profile, internal BL costing, and line P&L preparation. And profound understanding of ISC line strategy to maximize line\'s profitability while balancing each stakeholder\'s interests. He/She has strong data analytical skills with innovative solutions for the daily tasks and good interpersonal skills to express, explain, and convince their findings and suggestions.Key Result Areas

  • Monitor operational and business performance of the line to ensure Line monthly P&L is maximized
  • Ensuring CMA ISC Line operated service\'s vessel deployment is well planned under the limited group resources, in which the deployment plan is fitting the business needs
  • Perform monthly result review and highlight findings for improvement
  • Prepare and review monthly financial result forecast and budgeting
  • Conduct any ad-hoc P&L studies with suggestions for line management\'s decision making
  • Handle service exceptions and execute cargo recovery planning for any void sailing, port omission, schedule delay or any other operational issues
  • Monitor and track competitor activities in the ISC market to spot and analyze market trends in order to ensure the trade strategy is aligned with market activities
Key Accountabilities/Duties
  • Liaise regularly with ISC commercial team and cargo flow team to understand market situation & CMA weekly utilization performance, and to provides suggestions to maximize revenue
  • Work regularly with HO feet department to express ISC line needs and find solution actively to improve vessel deployment on ISC line
  • Monitor closely with operation team and cargo flow team for any operational issues and provides suggestions to minimize the BL related cost i.e. transshipment cost
  • Work together with business control, commercial team, cargo flow team to review monthly performance and suggest areas to improve in monthly result i.e. Review cargo mix, variable costs to ensure maximum yield & provide trade directions for cargo acceptance per local/vessel operational constraints
  • Person in charge for financial result forecasting and budgeting and provide insight to line management for coming months financial performance
  • Prepare monthly market share reports, weekly market supply/demand trends, competitor/market analysis, and perform other tasks related to market studies
  • Analyse on going market trend with CMA vessel deployment plan and conducts P&L estimation for different scenarios
  • Other relevant ad-hoc study tasks, as and when assigned by line management
Incumbent Specification
  • Minimum Degree in Maritime Studies / Supply Chain or equivalent
  • Preferably with 5 years of working experience in the shipping industry
  • Experience in Planning function will be advantageous
  • Intermediate to advance proficiency in Excel
