Job Summary

  • A business manager in Financial Markets Operations with responsibility for specific global functions to support headcount, financial and business performance planning. Provide ongoing reporting and delivery assurance across growth and efficiency initiatives planned to meet budget and performance targets.
Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Contribute to ongoing FM Operations Financial Strategy deliverables where assigned - including Strategic organization design; Location strategy and rightshoring; Hiring and resourcing strategy
  • Able to organise cross-functional teams to solve problems and formulate future-proof solutions aligned to key strategic aims and business efficiency targets. Responsible for leading assigned global and regional financial initiatives end to end from planning to implementation.
Business
  • Responsible for leading core business planning and performance deliverables across Financial Markets Operations. This includes: Budget and cost planning; Efficiency initiatives; Headcount and hiring.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of actuals and forecasted performance across financials (headcount and non-headcount costs), headcount and initiative milestones.
  • Conducts analysis across datasets to provide trends and insights that drive improvement in performance metrics and inform decision making.
People & Talent
  • Lead by example to build the appropriate culture and values. Set the appropriate tone and expectations when interacting across functional teams and work in collaboration with stakeholders
Risk Management
  • The ability to interpret the Group\'s and Business\' financial information, identify and escalate key issues in execution plans based on this information and define actions plans to mitigate and track resolution where required.
  • Work with global and functional teams to continue to develop FMO Key performance metrics to ensure clear visibility of progress to achieve financial and headcount targets.
Governance
  • Embed the Group\'s values and code of conduct to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\'s Values and Code of Conduct .
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Financial Markets Operations leadership team (including global function heads), Financial Markets COO; Finance partners.
Other Responsibilities
  • Embed Here for good and Group\'s brand and values in Financial Markets Operations; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor\'s degree from a recognized University.
  • 6+ years of relevant working experience in Business Management, Project / Change management, consulting / advisory and/or operations leadership roles in Banking / financial services industry.
  • Working experience in supporting Financial Markets preferable with knowledge of products, processes and operating models.
  • Strong data analytical skills, working with large datasets to produce meaningful visualisations and insights.
  • Excellent presentation skills both written and oral communication. Strong stakeholder management skills with experience facing off to global stakeholders across varied business and functional teams.
  • Creative problem-solver with good multi-tasking skills, able to prioritise issues and resolve them efficiently.
  • Strong project management skills, with direct experience in managing business projects.
  • Mature self-starter who can quickly get up to speed and take a strategic view.
  • Ability to work on broad strategic projects as well as day-to-day process-oriented tasks.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
